Improving the oral health of communities throughout Arkansas
The 2022 Community Grant application process is now closed.
Launched in 2008, the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation’s Community Grant opportunity provides statewide support to communities and nonprofit organizations focusing on oral health education, prevention, and treatment. Community Grants support transactional projects promoting good oral health practices and increasing access to dental care.
Funding focuses on projects reaching uninsured and underserved individuals of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and socio-economic statuses in Arkansas.
Focus Areas
Educate communities on proper oral health regimens, oral disease, and how to access oral health treatment and supplies.
Measures
Grant application will be evaluated for overall content with special emphasis on the following areas:
Implementation Plan – Proposal includes a thorough plan detailing how the program will be implemented throughout the grant cycle. Template is provided by the Foundation.
Evaluation – Proposal includes descriptive evaluation approach including the organization’s intended outcomes and qualitative and quantitative data to be tracked and reported.
Eligibility
The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation welcomes applicants from the state of Arkansas dedicated to improving the oral health and oral health equity of Arkansans.
The Foundation funds nonprofit organizations with active programs in the state of Arkansas holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, governmental agencies and educational facilities. The Foundation cannot award grants to individuals.
Evaluators
The Community Grant evaluation committee is comprised of Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation Board members, Delta Dental of Arkansas Employees and community leaders.
The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation Community Grantee Network consists of organizations throughout the state of Arkansas who are committed to improving oral health in their communities.
The Foundation encourages Arkansas-based nonprofit or community organizations holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, governmental agencies and educational facilities to apply. The Foundation cannot award grants to individuals.

The 2022 Community Grant application emphasizes elements our Strategic Roadmap. Each applicant will be asked to identify how their proposal aligns with our strategic focus areas. The application also includes templates for the Project Implementation Plan and Budget.

Yes, absolutely. You will have an opportunity in the application to tell us how your ideas and initiative have evolved since last year.
Generally speaking, we are interested in ambitious, creative initiatives likely to affect the oral health of a significant portion of a target population, geography, or community. Strong applicants will display an awareness of and address health equity.
Because we know the kind of investment required for these proposals, we do our best to make sure that re-application is as easy as possible.
